The amazing drug prevention people we met at Arno offered us some food that looked a bit like pasta salad with kim chee. (for the Italophiles or the culinary pundits, the 'penne' resembled tortigilioni, the horizontally striped variety). When I served myself a large helping and said something along the lines of "mmmm pasta salad" they smiled and said "nope, sand worm". Raw sand worm to be precise. Now it made sense what all these figures on the beach were doing: digging for sandworms. Unfortunately, I failed to take a picture of the finished sandworm 'pasta', but it tasted rather nice (but then, I like everything with kim chee). Below, however, is a picture of a halved, skinned roasted breadfuit, ready for dinner. |
